Crystal Report paging problem

I have been having problems with CR not paging. After hitting the
'next' button to go to page 2, it would always remain on page 1. I was
told to put the ReportDocument object in a session variable and then
reassign. That worked, but the customer will not allow b/c of the size
of the data stored in the session. I have been getting the data to
return to the CrystalReportViewer. However, when I try and go to the
next page, it doesn't go EVERY time. Sometimes and I can press the
next button and it will go to the next page. Sometimes, it stays on
the same page for 5 continuous presses of the next button, then on the
6th try, it will page. There is no consistency here. I may press 4
times to get it to go, may only press one time for it to go. I have no
idea how this can be happening. I would expect some sort of
consistency, but there is none. Does anyone have a clue what could be
causing this? I am open to any and all suggestions.
Thx
