I'll agree Crysis was a good game, some innovative things you could do, I liked the way most of the vegetation reacted to gunfire, for instance. Hated the alien part though and also didn't like the part where you guided the airplane - frustrating
zed: Good games never go out of date. I've just played Half Life & Blue Shift and am currently midway through Opposing Force. After that I''ll play Gunman Chronicles. Although I have all the originals I recently picked up Half Life/Blue Shift/Opposing Force for £4.96 at PC World on one DVD disc.
Thery're all fully patched and run under Steam now, the games run better and faster than they used to but only trouble is you can't run Custom Games under that setup, such as They Hunger.
As for GTAIV I'm running it on the system in my sig and a couple of days ago I had my first freeze, dialogue was running, black screen, had to reset computer to exit the game. So I backed down several video settings from high to medium and it's been alright since.
The game estimates your highest possible video settings and warns when your settings have nearly maxed out your hardware. I was right on the limit, 485 out of 492, so I backed down.
GTAIV looks gorgeous btw and the play is very fluid. For some reason though I can't connect to what they call the Rockstar Social Club which is needed for online play. I've checked my password, they e-mail me back the correct one when I request it, it just won't connect. I also e-mailed Rockstar about the problem but they never answered.
Still, the single player is good and I only paid a tenner for it from Morrisons, the supermarket chain.
