This memory module CT32M64S4D7E is available from Crucial directly for
$68.39 (on sale) and from NewEgg for $57.00. NewEgg lists it as OEM.
What makes a memory module OEM anyway? Is this the same exact module?
Any reason not to get it from NewEgg and save $?

OEM products generally require you to get support/corrective action from
the vendor you purchase it from. This means that they can provide it to
the OEM cheaper since they don't have to support it - but the OEM often
passes that discount on to you because they don't invest in the support
path either.

I've never had any issues with the hundreds of RAM sticks I've purchased
from Crucial.

So, are you saying that if I purchase a Crucial RAM stick from NewEgg,
Crucial wont stand behind it?

Call Crucial and find out exactly what they will do for the
person who buys it directly or through a third-party seller.
If the time interval for replacing defective or damaged parts
is involved, then buy retail from the manufacturer...at least
there should be easy stock availability. If packaging is not
important and the memory sticks come in just an anti-stat bag
and not a container, then buy from the third-party seller for
the lower price. How one buys should fit into one's needs at
the particular time, all product operating issues being equal.

Crucial RAM is guaranteed for life if it is chosen from a selection after
you have utilized the RAM configurator on their web page. If you don't use
any of the recommended RAM, and freelance your choice, you get a standard
warrantee (whatever it may be).

The module in question CT32M64S4D7E is one of the modules that is listed
by the RAM configurator tool on the Crucial web page as compatible with
my computer when I run the Crucial Scan on my computer. So I'm not
"freelancing my choice". I'm choosing a module they are saying is
compatible. I'm simply wanting to save $11 by buying that module from
NewEgg instead of directly from Crucial. Silly eh?
