CRT display partly blurry

I just bought a used Compaq s710 (CRT) monitor. It works well, except
that the middle of the screen is slightly fuzzy, compared to the left
and right sides, as if it is out of focus. Has anyone experienced
this?

Yes, its not an uncommon fault with a CRT.

There is a focus adjustment inside...
but unless you really know what you are doing...
don't fool with it as there is very high voltage in there...
it can be quite dangerous
