Has anyone tried to plug an ide cable with two drive attachments
to something like a crossfire hard drive case? Like, take apart the
case and use two drives?

It really depends on the design of the chip used in the enclosure.

This is an example of a USB to IDE adapter chip. You'd have to
read the number off the chip, and look it up, to see if it
is theoretically possible.
