Note that Word creates a bookmark when you insert a cross-reference to a
caption, heading, numbered item, etc. If you then press Enter (to insert a
new paragraph) at the beginning of that caption, the paragraph break is
inserted inside the bookmark and is picked up by the cross-reference. For
