Critical Update (kb824105) patch does not install from windows update

When using updating Windows workstations before deployment the KB824105
patch does not install. Our basic procedure is:
1> install XP
2> make sure all devices are properly setup
3> run XPSP1 setup
4> install any applications
5> patch using windows update
6> then run XPSP1 setup again and deploy.
On the fifth step all the critical updates install normally without
issue except for the KB824105 patch. We work primarily with refurbished
Dell GX100's, GX110's, and GX400's for our XP boxes.
