On shut down, as soon as the display clears, a "Critical Stop" sound plays.
It plays a second time when "Windows is shutting down" appears. Sometimes
when I try to shut down the computer, it just hangs. When I try again, it
shuts down, but with the "Critical Stop" sounds. There are no error messages.
I hope someone out there can help me solve this annoying problem.

Hi: When you shutdown your computer, do you get any event in your computer.
If you starup your system, using MSconfig, just with Microsoft software and
no 3rd party services, do you have the same sound?
