critical error XP PRO

I receive the following critical error message sfter login and my desktop
starts to open. I have wiped my hd and re-installed xp pro several times and
same error occurs. I'm not very knowledgeabe so keep answers in a novice
format. I would really apprecaite any and all help. Thanks Duane

It's most likely that your hardware is faulty, specifically, faulty RAM. The
RAM chips themselves might not be usable.

If your not familiar enough with hardware, motherboards, ram etc..take it to
a computer shop and get them to check each ram stick to see if that is the
culprit. You haven't tried to overclock the machine (increase the cpu speed)
by chance have you? Amateurs make lots of mistakes and end up cooking their
machines.

Computer is about 6 mnths old and no I don't know how to "overclock" it's a
Athalon 3000+ 64 bit cpu with 512 ddr ram in a ASUS 8N deluxe mb. i guess
I'll have to pull the ram and get it to somebody for checking. duane
