I have Windows XP with Microsoft Picture It! Photo 7.0. Is there a way to
create watermarks from photos with this program? I can create watermarks on
Word from photos but can't find a way to save it such that I can retrieve it
as a photo file.

In PI7...try using the transparency option:
Effects / Transparent Fade / Even...drag
the slider to achieve the desired result.

Then...save the file as a Portable Networks
Graphics .png or .gif. (give the file a new name
to prevent the original from being overwritten)
