When I type a URL into a message, I would like for the recipient to be able
to click the URL as a hyperlink. How do I make the URLs display as a
hyperlink?

Well, honestly, it depends upon the recipient's email client. Some mail
clients will recognize the text http://www.yahoo.com as a url. Other
clients won't. Some clients will recognize an HTML formatted message where
the url is composed just like it would be on a web page (and inserted via
Insert- Hyperlink).

Personally, I think the better bet is just to put in the http address and
depend upon your recipient to be astute enough to recognize that if they
can't click it, they need to drop it in a web browser, since I'd trust most
mail clients to recognize the http:// format before they would read an html
based email. But that's me.

I appreciate the response, however, I'm referring to recipients who also have
Outlook 2003. Can this be remedied by a setting adjustment on my end or
theirs?

Well, if they are using Outlook 2003, just type http://www.yahoo.com and
their client will have it clickable. Even in a text formatted email. The
only reason I can think it would be clickable is if you're using Wordmail
and you don't hit enter at the end of the url (and old bug which I don't
think happens in 2007). If it's clickable on your screen, it should be
clickable on theirs. So, the only question is: Do you want them to see
'Click Here!' or do you want them to just see something clickable. If the
latter, just type the url. If the former, Insert-Hyperlink. More or less
like I said in the first message.

Thank you. One of your sentences within your response had the answer.
Evidently, I was not pressing Enter after cutting and pasting the URL within
my message. In hindsight, what I was doing was typing my message first and
then pasting the URL as its own paragraph within the text. Then, I would
click Send without ever pressing Enter. Anyway, problem solved. Thanks!
