Trying to set up an appointment schedule in Excel linking it to a stting of
info on each person. Original data is in access and also have a generated
list in Excel.
I want to be able to type in someone's unique number and display several
cells of data (first name, last name, date of birth, telephone, etc.)

Visit Debra Dalgleish's site for info on VLOOKUP function to pull data based on
value. Note the downloadable sample workbooks.

Also see Debra's site for info on Data Validation selection lists for inputting
the data if need be.
