How do I create a prompt in the subject line of emails to remind people to
enter certain lines of text.

For instance many of our employees must inserst a declaration in their
subject line, in line with a legal requirement such as "this email is
designated as 'Restricted under........."

Is there a code I could use to look to see if this text or certain 'words'
have not been included and a prompt appear to remind peoplpe to do so?

Many people do use the subject line but they omit this particular text -
which is a requirement in our particular office for legel reasons.....

any help?

This relates to Office 2003

You need to do this with Visual Basic. Ask in the Outlook Programming-VBA
group.

Someone has their head up their arse regarding the legality of disclaimers
in e-mails. Since the recipient cannot agree to the contract of conditions
BEFORE they receive the e-mail, they are not required to retroactively and
without PRIOR permission to agree to any disclaimer you place in an e-mail.
The inclusion of a disclaimer that purports to constrain the recipient is
unenforcable and makes the sender look like an idiot. You could send an
e-mail that notifies the recipient of the conditions that you want to impose
on a document and then provide a link to that document (but you'll probably
want them logging in as proof that they agreed to your terms). No other
party must agree to your terms simply because you say so. They must agree
to the terms beforehand.

Text e-mails obviously cannot run scripts. HTML-formatted e-mails are
rendered under the Restricted Sites security zone by default and those
cannot run scripts. You won't be able to pop anything in the recipient's
face when they receive your e-mails (gee, imagine how fun that would be when
you get all that spam that wants to pop something in your face).

The Subject line is not where you place the disclaimer. You won't have room
for it. There isn't a user that has a wide enough screen for the Subject
field in the display of the e-mail to show all of your disclaimer. The
disclaimer goes into the body of your e-mail. If you want the user to see
it then put it at the beginning of your e-mail which means your recipients
will get nuisanced having to read a bunch of crap that they don't care about
and that they are NOT legally bound to comply.
