Creating a professional appearance with FP2000

My website is www.jeffkrukin.com. I want it to have that glossy,
professional appearance that you see in all professional websites, like at
http://davidzach.com. How do I do this? I've looked at the templates
installed with FP2000, but don't see any that are quite what I want. Is a
template the answer, or do I need something more? Does FP2003 do this?

Thank you very much.

All you need to create a site like that is FP2000 and a good graphics
program.

The "look" is all in the color choices, font selections, and the
layout, none of which you need a template for. You will notice that
most of the "professional" sites these days use white as their
background.

A lot of people (me for instance) dont just have the natural ability
to create an attractive looking site layout from scratch even though
we "know one when we see one"

In such a case, pick a site you like the look of, and model your site
after it.

A few comments about your site:
Don't underline anything that is not a link.
Graphics for buttons on the left would probably be better than just text
links.
why 3 photos of yourself all on the HOME page?
You probably don't need the Google Search at the bottom of the page ... with
so many links to other parts of your site.
Images for awards shouldn't have white borders ... bullets don't show up.
Don't use default linking colors.
You could use something more interesting at the top of the page.
It's just kind of boring, I'm afraid. Turn it over to someone with good
graphics/color skills.

Thank you for your suggestions. It motivated me to do what I've needed to do
for some time; work on the appearance and try various looks.

Eleanor, I'm not sure what you mean by "send me the results." The results
will be visible on my website. I'll be making changes just a little at a
time and trying various things, as this isn't my top priority. Thank you.

Andrew,

I put that in my original question, but I see it doesn't become a link
without the http, which I find very surprising. It's
http://www.jeffkrukin.com. Thank you for your interest.

I have found that is normal behaviour

tandcl.homemail.com.au will not show as a link but
http://tandcl.homemail.com.au will
(I did this with cut and paste, so clearly it is the http:// - with any
extra non-blank character - which triggers the underline in blue.)
