I am using win xp home and my pc has not a lot of free space.
If I create another `user` on my desktop will this have any significant
effect on free hardrive space.
I am currently on 40MG hardrive with about 50% used. Its sufficient for my
use as I store files on another hardrive.

thanks

Creating a new account has a negligible impact on your disk space. It's the
files that this user will create that can make a difference!

A "new user" is just a name. It's what the "new user" downloads, saves
(from cd's, DVD's etc)
that will use space.

Often mentioned is that;
You may want to, for each user, check out and lower the size of
the web-browsers disk-cache. If you use 'Internet Explorer', the
default size for its cache is quite large (Control Panel :
Internet Options : General : Temp. Internet Files : Settings :
Amount of disk space to use).
