How can I force a new folder to not inherit the security preferences from its
parent?

Isn't there a checkbox for that in the security tab?

Since this was the .net framework newsgroup I was talking about
programmatically creating the folder. I found that using Active Directory to
apply rights, you have to create the DACL from new instead of getting the
DACL from the just created folder.
