I'd like to create a "Join Our Mailing List" button on my home page that,
when clicked, will bring up a small window with just a few fields, such as
e-mail address, name, and a checkbox for html. When the "Submit" button is
pressed, it'll send me a "subscribe" e-mail, and the window will close,
taking the visitor back to my home page. Is this possible with FrontPage?

You can do that with third-party scripts. But you can do the basic thing
with a form, that sends the persons email to you, then uses your homepage as
the confirmation page.
