I have Windows XP (auto updated so I think it's current) and Outlook Express 6.

I would like to use the Address Book as my Mail Merge recepient list when
using MS Word.
When I choose Outlook Contact Store duriing mail merge sequence, Word says
it cannot open it.
I checked my Outlook Express Address Book and under Tools/Options it shows a
radio button followed by "Do not share info among MS Outlook and other
applications. Data in address book stored in (*.wab)." There is a choice
for sharing, but the radio button is fixed on the above option and it is not
possible to choose the share option.

Is this why I can not access my Contact List? If so, how can I connect
Address Book to Mail Merge?

Also, How do I back up my address book so that I can reinstall it if
necessary?

Thanks

I would cross-post this question in the two relevant newsgroups: MS Word and
Outlook Express. This is where you're likely to find the right experts. Here
is a guide for proper cross-posting:

A lot of this depends on what Office version is installed, Phillip. That
being said:

How to create a Mail Merge
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/MailMe...AMailMerge.htm

You can perform a Mail Merge in various Word versions, in many cases using
OE Address Book, to print standard labels for, say, Christmas cards or
newsletter mailings. Much depends on the version of Word version in use:

Word 97: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=195609

Word 2000: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=212034

Word 2002: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=294683

On each page, scroll down to Related Articles for links to relevant articles
like
