Creating a Lotus Notes email from .NET

I need to know how to send an email to Lotus Notes from .NET. Ihave done this with VB6 but am looking for a managed codesolution. I have looked at system.web.mail namespace and cansend SMTP mail but this does not work with Lotus Notes. I gatherthat Lotus Notes does not work with MAPI either.
Any ideas?
