I am trying to create a frame I understand how to create an inline frame if
you want to add a pdf file into your website. I can get front page to do
that. I am trying to create a template that has the 7 same items so the user
can scroll to any of those pages.for example

Employee Lookup By Last Name
Employee Lookup By Office
Office Locations
Helpdesk

I am trying to create a stationary frame on the left hand side of the web
page So the User always have these four options. I have trying creating an
inline frame.. is this the correct way? When I do a inline frame I cannot
add any additional text or graphics... it places the graphic next to the
inline frame...

Thanks

Structure your page layout with a 2 column tables, and insert the IFrame in the left column.

Don't use inline frames, just use frameset pages
Look a File New Page (more templates) and select the Frames tab

That being said, make sure you understand the limitations of frames before you use them

For some reason I cannot find the template and I reinstalled FrontPage with
a custom install to Install all the Templates just to get that template... I
can't figure why that template is missing.. I guess just not my day... and I
have the user breathing dopwn my back...

Check that FP is set to allow frames:
FP2003 - Tools->Page Options - Authoring Tab
Other versions - Tools->Page Options - Compatibility tab

Tick the Frames checkbox.

Do you mean a normal frames page (frameset).? The Frames menu in FP could
help you there.

Or the template pages offer a number of basic "frames pages" to base your
site on.

Do you have frames enabled under page options?

Jim,

I see that Thomas and others are answering strictly in terms of how to use
FP to set up frames. I started that way but to link all the frames them
together, I entered the HTML code directly (using the HTML tab).

You can see what I did at http://tandcl.homemail.com.au/index.html .Use View
| Source to see the code. The left hand frame
(http://tandcl.homemail.com.au/sidebar.html ) does what I think you want.
The higher table has links to other pages on the same website; the lower
table is similar, but uses a drop down table and links to external sites.

There is also a top frame which contains the heading - the name of this is
http://tandcl.homemail.com.au/index_top.html
