Creating a Difficult Chart

Data Set 1: Q1 with a %, Q2 with a %, Q3 with a % and Q4 with a %. This
data needs to be shown as the left-side numbers on a bar chart. Beside these
%ages, there needs to be a line running thru the bar at this point. No
shading of the bar should occur.

Data Set 2: Q1 with a %, Q2 with a %, Q3 with a % and Q4 with a %. These
percentage numbers are different numbers than Data Set 1. These numbers need
to be shown on the right-side, AND the percent "fill" needs to be shaded.
There should be a different shade for each Q.

How do I do this? Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks!

I think I can help you once I understand what you want. Can you give a
specific example of the data for each data set and how you have it displayed
in your worksheet?

In the meantime, take a look at Jon Peltier's site. He has a lot of
information on Excel charting.

Do you want a line chart of the first data set, and a column chart of the second
data set? It's not clear what you need. The data should be arranged like this (top
left cell ought to be blank):

Line Column
Q1 1% 25%
Q2 3% 28%
Q3 2% 33%
Q4 3% 27%

Select this data and start the chart wizard. Create a line chart, keep pressing OK
until the chart is done. Double click the second series ("Column"), and on the Axis
tab, select Secondary. Select the second series ("Column") and on the Chart menu,
choose Chart Type, and select a column type chart.
