What operating system is the web server running on. Unix/Linux with Apache web server, Windows IIS,
etc.?
What server-side scripting language is supported by the server, ASP, ASP.net, PHP, CFM, JSP, etc.?
What database is supported by the server, Access, MS SQL, MySQL, etc.?

You can find out this information by contacting the company providing you with web space.
