Creating backup of a data file

Hi . I have been asked to creat a back up file of a data base in case the
computer crashes onto a cd and update the back up on a weekly basis. the file
in based in the C:\Program Files\. I am unsure to how to do this. Can
anyone help. Thanks

Are you opening that file? If so , use

Activeworkbook.SaveCopyAs Filename:="C:\mybackups\myfile.xls"

Activeworkbook is a VBA built-in pointing to the active workbook.
