I want to create a subweb within an existing web to manage permissions for certain information. I have read the manual and gone through the help screens, but cannot figure how to get it done. I follow the instruction, but keep creating pages inside my existing web rather than subwebs. What am I missing? Can someone give me some very cleary step by step instrucitons to create a subweb in FP 2000? Thanks

A subweb is a folder treated by FP as a web
In FP Create a folder under the Root web
- you can put your pages in the folder before next step
Right Click it to convert to web, Double click it to open it

PS your host must support subwebs (many don't)

Open the web where you want to create the sub web
Create a new Folder
Right-click on the folder and choose "Convert to Web".

The folder will now have a green globe on it. That's a sub web.

Double-click to open the sub web. To change permissions choose, Tools,
Security, Permissions and set the permissions to be Unique from the root.
The click the users tab and add the users who will have "Author" permission.

I can't seem to put my hands on this in FP 2003. I was
able to find the PERMISSIONS option when I open the
CUSTOMIZE TOOLS option, but then it's not available.

HELP!

It is only available on a server running the FP SE and If your host allows it
- not available on a local web or subweb
