Does anyone have any suggestions on how to create a shortcut to download a
file through the web link? such as
http://main.hsi.com.hk/hsicom/table/dyforma1.xls
I would like to download this file into C:\files directory by clicking a
shortcut.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you very much
Eric

Have you tried playing around with "Save Target As..."? (right click on the
file to be downloaded).

Right click on your Desktop and select New -> Shortcut from the menu.
Enter the following in the location box.

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"
http://main.hsi.com.hk/hsicom/table/dyforma1.xls

Note: If you use a different web browser, make the appropriate changes.
Hit the Next button.
Name your new shortcut and hit the Finish button
Double click on the shortcut and navigate to your C drive to save the file.
The next time you use this shortcut it will offer to save the file to your C
drive unless you saved another downloaded file to a different location.

Good luck

Sorry, I don't know of any way you can do that. You might want to post this
question to the newsgroup for your web browser. Here's the one for Internet
Explorer.

There are similar forums available for Firefox.

Good luck
