create a hot-spot in Power Point

Ref. Power Point 2003
I'm trying to create a hot spot so I can produce an information box with a
hot spot rollover.

Create a shape (any you like) and set it's border to none and the background
to transparent, attach your message and any links as desired.

Create the shape as above.
right click > hyperlink
choose place in this document > the slide your on
Click "screen tip" and type it in
--

Thank you John! I followed until the part about "screen tip". I'm working
with windows XP .... I still dont have a rollover where any message or
instruction becomes visible. Yes please, more detail

"screen tip" is a button top right of the dialogue box for hyperlink.
