I would like to create this formula in a Word document -

=Left(Trim({MERGEFIELD name}), 3)

'name' is the name of a merge field.
How do I accomplish this or is it possible?

Thanks much.
Seth

Hi Seth,

No can do with a field - Word fields don't support 'LEFT' or 'TRIM'
functions. You'll need to modify the source data, or use a macro in
conjunction with the mailmerge.

Cheers
