I am flabbergasted. I called tech support today on two issues and was told
in both cases, they couldn't help me. I'll post the second, Creating a new
category in Business Contacts, in a separate post.

I'm using Office Small Business 2007 mainly for the Business Contact Manager
on a computer with XP. It's got 2 GB RAM and plenty of storage space.

I work with a number of people at the same company (or hospital) with the
same basic information such as address, website, etc. So I've been looking
for a way to duplicate these contact basic information so all I have to do is
change the name, phone #, and email which will save time. It's also a basic
feature of all contact managers I've ever used.

I couldn't find a way to do it so went to the help file where it tells how
to do it under the title "Create a contact from another contact". It says to
go to a card view, click on the contact you want duplicated, do a control C
and Control V and make the changes needed to the duplicated contact. I did
this but the program comes up with a window saying "The folders you are
trying to change do not support this operation. Could not complete the
operation because the service provider does not support it."

Service Provider? What is going on? Why can I not duplicate a card as the
help file says I should be able to do? The technician who took over my
computer to try to help just said there was nothing he could do. I can't do
what the help file says I can.

Any ideas?

When you open a Contact, is there in the menu Actions | New contact Same
Company?? Without BCM that's what Outlook uses. I am not familiar with BCM
though.
