After drawing the shape, you can double click on it.
This will bring you to the Drawing Tools ribbon.
Under Shape Styles, you can play around with the Shape effects, which
includes bevel, shadow and etc. You can also try out the presets and see if
you can find what you want.
Or you can take a look at glass ball effects sample which can be achieved in
PowerPoint 2002/Xp and above:
