I'm getting a CRC error on different files during
the install of XP. This is during the Installing XP
phase after XP has booted from the hard drive.
I've tried two different XP Pro SP2 install CDs,
different CD-ROMS, a factory-new hard drive, and
different IDE cables for both the hard drive and
CD-ROM drive. I've also tried the install without
the sound card. I've flashed in the newest BIOS.
I'm still getting the CRC error.
I've ran Memtest86 for over 7 hours, but it didn't
detect any memory problem. I ran two different
Prime95 stress tests each for over 7 hours with
any errors.
What's strange is that I can install Windows 2000
Professional and even Windows Server 2003 without
getting the CRC error. Why I'm I only getting the
CRC error during the install of XP? Thanks for any
suggestions you can give me.
