i am having really annoying crashes and system freezes
when playing directX games and occasionally system
reboots automatically even when i am at desktop. I would
be really grateful if anyone had any suggestions .

What are you system specs? have you run the d3d tests in dxdiag?
Start->Run->"dxdiag"

Make sure you have the latest video drivers, BIOS, and 4in1 drivers if
applicable. Rebooting, and freezes can also mean hardware failure, something
else to check into.
