Crashes at 87% when manually send/receive

My copy of Outlook 2003 often crashes at exactly 87% completion when I
manually send & receive mail. Regular non-manual send & receive is fine. We
use a third party exchange server. My other personal machines [a PC and a
MAC] don't have a problem. I've repaired Outlook '03, but not reinstalled
[trying to avoid the aggrevation]. Running Office 2003, so upgrading to
Outlook '07 is a problem since I've been warned that my '03 spell check won't
work with '07.
Any suggestions?
