I'm trying to add a news group to Windows Mail. The server NNTP,
discussion.autodesk.com is automatically set up from a link on the website
http://discussion.autodesk.com/forums/, IT DOSE WORK in thunderbird. When I
try to add the individual groups as soon as I click OK "Windows Mail HAs
Stoped Working" pops up.

Does the following link open this newsgroup in Windows Mail? =>
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...ows.vista.mail

Compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/) and then try it
again. Also make sure you don't have 3rd party programs intefering such as
antivirus or antispam software.
