Odd one here!
With .mp3 iles associated with Windows Media Player, if I select one in
Explorer and press Enter, WMP opens for a few seconds (2 to 4), and then
the computer crashes and restarts. However, if I open WMP first, then do
exactly the same - i. e. select the ile in Explorer and press enter - it
plays fine.
It was WMP11 (this is XP SP3); I uninstalled WMP11, which rolled itself
back to WMP9 (couldn't go any further back) - but exactly the same
happens.
With mp3 files associated with IrfanView or WinAmp, no problems - it
opens those and plays the file as you'd expect.
Also, did have the same problem with a .chm (I think it was - compiled
help file anyway): selecting it and pressing Enter caused the help
window to open or a few seconds, then the computer to crash and restart.
