CRASH AFTER UP GRADE _ Bad file Tech help Please

Laptop Dell Inspirion xp Pro- stasted MIME- apps x-
msdownload, octet-stream, x-msdos-program
Ident characters Hex:4D5A
ASCII:MZ

Temp folder w2ksp4_en.exe

What is this- computer is in sort of safe mode- huge fonts-
cant read colors- states when reboot that Windows cannot
open this operating file. All I know is I downloaded the
patches on the MS website- do I need to take this to a
shop- can someone help me with what this means?

Are you SURE you're running XP?! That executable is the latest Service Pack
for Windows 2000! You've not attempted to install it under XP, have you?
That DLL belongs to your graphics card driver, hence the rest of your
problem. Visit Nvidia's website (www.nvidia.com) and download the latest
driver for your card and install.

Tell me exactly what updates you've installed...methinks you've been
attempting to install Windows 2000 updates under XP.
