When I have one Access 2003 application open and minimized, and try to open
a second Access 2003 application, the first one crashes, an Hourglass
appears on the desktop, and the second application does not open. To end
this event I must go into the task manager and close my Not Responding
original application(Access).

Only 1 out of 10 times will a second application open without the crash.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hello, try this. This method is provided by Mr. Dirk Goldgar

It may be that your problem is caused by the operation of the Name
AutoCorrect feature. If it's currently enabled, turn it off: Tools ->
Options... -> General tab, uncheck "Track name AutoCorrect info".
