Is it a PCI or AGP card? If AGP, do you also have a PCI card
installed in PCI slot 1? If so, move the PCI card to a different slot.

Hi,
I have been wresteling with a f%"%"%£" ATI graphics card all day and
now at 12.30am I am loosing it. I have a pentium iii 450, Win2k
with nothing else other than the ATI card in it and it has to chose
resources which are already in use. How can i force this stupid rage/fury
expert 128 stupid stupid
card to go away and use some other unallocated resources. Please help

Hi Rick,
Its an AGP card and I dont have any PCI cards installed now.
Earlier on today I removed a modem and nic in the hope of freeing up the
troublesome resource, but now I see it is allocated already to IDE drives. I
will have to reallocate the AGP resources but when I look in device manager
the "automatic allocate" box is ticked and the whole thin greyed out. How
could I manually allocate available resources under win2k?

Have you tried uninstalling BOTH video card AND Via CPU to AGP controller -
then reboot and let win2k re-detect both of them? It may then sort out the
conflict. Also try different agp drivers - use the MS 'via tech agp to cpu'
driver insted of the via 4in1. If that doesn't work try an 'upgrade
reinstall'.

Tony
