Hello
Its me the begginer thinking about CPU's. Thanks to people who replyed to
me!
On previous computers i have used, it has been an Intel Pentium 4, however
on the PC i am building should i go for this, or i was thinking an AMD
Athlon, may be the AMD Athlon 64 3000?
What about FANS, i have seen these stylish, cool looking ones are they as
good as they look? Are there certain types of grills for certain fans??
Graphic Cards any info on them- something average price, really good for
games,movies etc?
Ok i will keep doing my research, learning more by the minute, thanks for the
help of this newsgroup to.

What is your price range? What is the purpose of this computer?

A stock CPU fan is usually good enough unless you'll be overclocking.
Maybe an extra case fan would help cool the whole system. Stylish means
nothing, look up reviews.

What do you mean by "good"? They're no higher or lower quality than other
fans just because of how cool they look - they just cost a bit more.

Just ones that fit. There are cool looking grills that are cut in shape of
neat designs, but obviously they won't protect or filter like more closely
"knit" grilles.

CPU coolers tend to excel at one of three things:

- very cheap
- very quiet
- very good cooling
- (possible fourth: very nice blue LEDs)

If you just want just a standard system, get a cheap one.

If you want a quiet system get a quiet cooler, but you will also need a
quiet PSU, graphic cards fan and hard disk as well to make it worthwhile.

If you want to overclock get one with excellent cooling but it will
probably be noisy.

If you spend more time looking into your case than at your monitor, buy
one with nice blue LEDs.
