Could someone please tell me what this programme is about, because i only
noticed it on task manager a few weeks ago ( it may have always been there )
and i noticed that it runs my processor at a very high percentage ( 90+ % )
and my cpu usage monitor is showing 100% nearly all the time.

Is this normal for my cpu to run so high and if not........how do i alter
it....is this programme doing damage because it also asks for internet
connection sometimes ??

The file cpuidle.exe along with SRVANY.exe has been added
to a downloaded zipped or otherwise program and hacked to
include permission to use your PC to search for Alien
Beings (HUH) No i am not on any form of medication, but
if you view some of the other files associated with this
prog it relates to a site who does just that, when your
pc goes into screensaver mode cpu useage goes upto 100%
check out the site if you want its at

in all to be deleted and are as follows:
cpuidle.exe,srvany.exe,lock.sah,pid.sah,version.sah,key.sa
h,outfile.sah,resul.sah,user_info.sah andwtemp.sah all
located in the system32 folder or cpuidle folder or
drivers or etc folders. There is a further 2 files in the
prefetch folder and these are srvany.exe-??????.pf and
CPUIDLE.EXE-??????.pf ?=random numbers/letters

Above link tells you all you need to know. Program must have been installed
at some point (i.e. it's not part of Windows) but it's quite normal in the
way it operates for the cpu to be showing near 100% usage. I've used it on
several machines and it does seem to keep the idle temperature of the cpu
down (as a supplement to heatsink/fans etc). Any program looking to update
itself via the internet won't necessarily do any 'damage' to your PC. CPU
Idle should be in your program listings where you can get more info or
change settings. If, after all that, you still don't want it - just
uninstall it!

When in doubt, tap it into Google for all the info you want. It's never
failed me yet.

cpuidle.exe is suppose to be a utility to optimize the health of a CPU
by switching on the "sleep" mode of the cpu automatically, when
CPU isn't actually doing anything. Here's the homepage for the

In the "older days" I use to use this, because CPU's ran red hot even
without overclocking. With all the CPU cooler options out there (huge
heatsinks, fans, water cooling), I don't bother with another layer on
top of my OS, just something else to go wrong
