Hello,

I note a frequently peak in cpu utilisation (up to 60 %)
approximately every 5 seconds if the real-time protection
is turned on. My notebook fan will turn on frequently
caused by this.

Is there a way to resolve this?

Best regards
steffen

A quick fix would be to just turn off the active agents.

What model and brand of laptop?

Others have reported this--including some who find that the program prevents
standby or hibernation.

This is not the norm--only relatively few machines (judging from the reports
here) see this symptom.

I am using a Compaq Workstation EVO W6000 equipped with 2
Xeon processors and 1 Gb Memory running Windows XP
Professional with SP2. When I turn my PC on and logon I
cannot use my PC for several minutes as MS Spyware
consumes more than 50% processing power. After a few
minutes all comes to rest and I can start other
applications.

Regards, Andre

Wild! And I suppose that your machine is, in fact clean--i.e. this isn't an
interaction between existing spyware and the product, etc..

Thanks for the clear report--that should be helpful to the Microsoft folks
montoring these groups.
