CPU usage 100% after installing SP2 on XP PRO

's Computer Specifications

Ive got this issue where after installing just XP PRO, usage was
normal. After upgrading to SP2, usage is always shown as 100% but the
CPU runs fine. No lag or anything like that. Drives seem to be fine,
no problems there. Got any ideas/suggestions, let me know!

I use an old graphic editor called LViewPro v2. And every CPU monitor
will show it pegged when it opens up a graphic file. But no noticeable
performance difference is noted.

I also never had any good luck with the SP2 upgrade. Every computer I
tried it on, always ran slower afterwards. Oddly enough, if you use a
Windows XP install with SP2 included, they work fine.

Check which process is hogging the CPU in Task Manager - Processes tab.

disable automatic updates it worked for me
