Motherboard: Asus M2N-E
RAM: A-DATA DDR2-800 2Gx2 and 1Gx2
Video: Asus Radeon 4850
Power: Antec 550W
Hard disk: Seagate 250G x 2

Unable to boot if all 4 pcs of RAM plugged in.
Removing 1 pc out of slot A1, it booted.
Note that when I was using 3800+, the PC still booted with all 4 pcs of RAM.

So is it a power problem? Or is it something else?

No use...

I begin to suspect that AMD X2 7750 Black Edition requires you to use
DDR2-800 RAM of the same size. That's why 4x1G worked, but not 2x2G+2x1G.

But then when I was using the AMD X2 3800+, I could use both 4x1G as
well as 2x2G+2x1G.... why why why....

I bought another pair of 2G Adata DDR2-800 Gaming Edition. With 4x2G,
M2N-E POSTed, but 64-bit Vi$Ta blue-screened!!!!!

Does it mean I need to use the same BATCH of DDR2? -_-"

Should I just upgrade my Asus M2N-E to something more modern, instead of
gambling on DDR2 combinations?

But then, it's hard to find a AMD motherboard with 7 usable PCIe+PCI
slots.... Sadly, Asus M2N-E has the right mix not copied by its
heirs!!!! -_-"

You need BIOS version 1701 as the minimum version. What version are you using ?

Done before I bought my 7750.

I was using a X2 3800+ and that 2x2+2x1 G Adata DDR2-800 used to work fine!

I bought another pair of Adata DDR2-800 2x2G (black heatsink, older
version pink heatsink).

I could boot with the black 2x2g with the pink 2x1g.

With black 2x2g + pink 2x2g, it could boot, but Vi$ta blue-screended!!!

Well .... what the hell is happening here? Could it be a motherboard
problem? Or is it the nForce 570 ultra chipset?

Memory interface is on the processor, for recent AMD processors.

Chipset has nothing to do with it, on AMD S754, S939, AM2, AM2+, AM3 etc.

Memory must be set up properly, via BIOS settings. Get into
the BIOS and fix it.

To start, turn down memory speed.

Enable Command Rate 2T.

Use memtest86+ from memtest.org
and do a couple passes of testing. Don't boot into
Vista, until memtest86+ is error free.

Increase Vdimm, to a value recommended for the memory.
The BIOS may have a setting for Vdimm.

Once you get the memory stable, start reducing the
Vdimm value, and retest. Only use as much Vdimm,
as is needed to keep the memory stable and error free.

For example, say I have DDR2 memory. Industry standard voltage
is 1.8V. The memory package says "2.2V". Set Vdimm to 2.2V
and test. Is the memory error free ? Now, reduce Vdimm
to 2.0V. Is the memory still error free ? If not, increase
to 2.1V and try again.

When four sticks are next to one another, sometimes
the cooling situation is not very good. I had that
problem with some DDR memory. By reducing Vdimm, the
power dissipation will drop a bit, so the memory
can run cooler.
