Hello!

I just purchased a new Intel Motherboard with a Core 2 Duo chip. I am using
Vista Enterprise...the Desktop Utilities program from Intel doesn't display
the CPU temperature and I can't seem to find a vista compatable CPU
temperature monitor. Suggestions?

Thanks,
Brian

Typically, there will be one on the CDs for your motherboard. What
brand/model motherboard do you have?

Everest Ultimate Edition

It even has support for a gadget for sidebar that displays temp/fan/voltage
info.

This is a new beta

Indeed, Everest is a fantastic and complete application for monitoring
temps, voltages, and fan speeds. It's worth every penny. However, if you
want something free that will monitor your Core 2 Duo's core temperatures,
you can use CoreTemp.

http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp/

Do not be alarmed if the temeratures seems high. This is normal since this
application displays reading from digital thermal sensors very close to each
of the two cores. Typical monitoring applications display a single reading
taken from thermal diode on the cpu die, located in a cooler spot than the
digital core sensors. A normal core idle temp could be anywhere between 40C
and 50C, depending on the airflow through your case, and ambient room
temperature.

I am using the one from the CD and it doesn't show the Temperature and tends
to crash...maybe not fully Vista compatable?

Well I tried that and unless I am blind, I am not seeing any temperature
information.

Yeah...I am just looking for something compatable with Vista to show me CPU
temperature. This program didn't help much.

Thanks,
Brian

Try Speedfan, besides giving you the CPU temp, it also monitors the
motherboard and your harddisk(s).
