Does anyone know of any freeware, link or name useful, that can continuously
monitor the CPU temp and show it on the Taskbar.
Using XP Home SP2.

Tools like Samurize (http://www.samurize.com) can do that.
You will have to search on the Samurize site to find a config that does
what you want.
Here's one example as a bar (not in taskbar, though):

Asus PC Probe will sit in the icon tray. It doesn't show the temperature
continuously, but it does flash a big warning on the screen anytime the CPU
temperature goes above your preset limits. When my cooling fan suddenly
stopped cooling enough, it warned me before any damage was done so that I
could get the fan replaced.

Maybe that's because you have got the Motor-board Version ;-)
This is my 6. PC that MBM does not recognize correctly :-((

What processor? VCool is nice for Athlon.

Motherboard Monitor is nice too but somewhat more complex. Check the
list of supported mobos...

Man, I gotta thank you for this. I can hear again!
Shoot, I bet I don't even need those new quieter fans I ordered
that haven't arrived yet. Dude, couldn't you have posted sooner,
thanx man!
