CPU speed misreported

Hello, anyone ever run into a situation where the CPU
speed on a PC is shown incorrectly when connected to the
PC through Windows MMC? We have a Compaq PC that showed as
a 1.0GHz yet when you go to the PC it actually is a
500MHz. This has happened when connected to a few of our
Compaq PCs. Thanks.
