My wifes PC shows that the CPU usage is 100% when
she opens a certain document. I have checked it with
avg and found nothing also adware finds nothing. As
this heats up the CPU I am very concerned that it
will burn up!! The Word document has 35 pages, mostly of text with a few
copied & pasted Excel columns of info too. I'm just thinking it might be
happening with all new Word docs., it certainly doesn't happen with any old
ones. Could that new document have something in it that is causing my
computer to access the Internet when it is open, perhaps a Trojan Horse?
Kind regards
EV

you could try finding and deleting the word template normal.dot (you could
rename it) word will make a new one when you run it again.

sometimes this blank template gets corrupt or has macro's added to it you
don't need which makes all new documents act strange.

Hope that helps

Have looked to see what process is using the CPU using the task manager. I
have a problem that explorer.exe goes to 100% and I have to kill it and
restart it.

Thanks for that I'll bear it in mind but I don't think EVERY new document
that uses the normal.dot template is being affected.
