My computer had the sasser virus and hasn't been the
same - it is running very slow - CPU usage is at 100%
while idle. Any idea what's up? Feedback appreciated

Hi

Are you that you got rid of Sasser completely? Have a look at the following
article:

Many viruses affect a computer's performance even after they are
successfully removed. Same thing with a human being. If you can determine a
specific source for your performance issues, you may be able to fix it.
Otherwise, you'll need to reinstall Windows. Another reason why prevention
is better than cure.

Use this on line scan from Panda to double check that
sasser is removed...
http://www.pandasoftware.com/actives...activescan_pri
ncipal.htm
Also check out this Microsoft knowledge base article on
it...http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;841720 It too includes a removal tool.
One thing to remember is that idle process in task
manager should read almost 100%. Also, if the virus got
into system restore, you may have re-invented it into
your system. You may have to turn system restore off and
turn back on again to get rid of old restore points....
Good luck.
