CPU Performance Problems

This relates to my experience with Vista Home Premium so I cannot comment on other versions.

My experience has been that this ##### utility for reporting problems once it finds a fault continues to seek out solutions to it when there are none. It clicks in the werfault.exe application which can one one instance take 50% of CPU and on occasions runs twice and takes all the CPU time.

Fingers crossed, I have stopped this annoying "helper".

Firstly, I tried the stop reporting problems fix as suggested by MS. Yes the config says that will happen but no it kept on coming back.

Secondly I thought that I wasn't able to do it because it was restricted to the "Administrator" Account (even though my account was an administrator) so I activated that account (hidden in vista) but no that could follow the instructions of MS either as the required radio was disabled. Finally I disabled the Windows Error Reporting Services and I am no longer bothered by Werfault and its CPU guzzling.

I hope this helps others experiencing the same problem.

Cheers

Marcelli
