cpu maxes out to 99 cpu usage in FRONTPG.exe if scrolling
up an htm doc using the keybd. PC becomes unusable.

I had and NT pc. Now I have a XP pc.
Both pc's do the same exact thing.

Both pc's with FrontPage 2002.
No add ins installed... all std.
Makes no difference if any other apps running or not.

1000ghz pc with 390mg ram and 30 gig c:

Any ideas how to stop this?

This occurs only with scrolling up a simple htm doc with
the keybd arrow keys ... not the mouse...

cpu usage goes to 99% and stays for 1-2 minutes.

Std MS mouse and mouse drivers are all current.

Other ideas...

There are other people on the net with the same issue...
Has to be FrontPage somehow.

Thanks

The design mode is graphics intensive
Check for the latest graphics drivers and directx for your OS

Thank you for your suggestions.

I was recently upgraded to a Windows XP ... standard
company install. The only similarity or connection
between the 2 machines is both had/have FrontPage 2002
(10.2623.4219) SP-2.

Are there patches for this version?

And could you give me step by step instructions on how to
check for the drivers you suggest aand what driver
versions that you would like me to look for?

And if I need a more current version of a driver, where to
find it? A link would be great.

Your help is appreciated.

As far as is known... all drivers are current.

Since it is a cpu maxing out for 1-2 minutes issue with
simple keybd scrolling issue in Frontpge.exe on simple htm
docs
and no other applications on the pc have the same issue...
not even MS products.

There has to be something with the vesion or patch level
of Frontpage 2002
currently at FrontPage 2002(10.2623.4219) SP-2

Is there any newer patch or release?

I hope someone from Microsoft will reply.

Did you recently update your mouse driver prior to this issue, if so, roll
back to the previous driver.
