Hullo
I have a Compaq Evo D300v with W2kpro installed, which
starts hanging as soon as it comes to the LogOn screen. I
first tried bootin in Safe Mode - no change. I've used
chkdsk /p, chkdsk /r, fixboot and fixmbr from the Repair
option of the W2k CD. I also did a IDE DPS self Test (am
not realy sure what this' good for)from the BIOS which was
successfull, but hasn't solved my problem.
Plz help me solve this problem and if possible explain
what caused it.

- What's the history of the machine?
- What does "hang" mean? No mouse movement?
No keyboard response? Does the NumLock light
operate? Does Ctrl+Alt+Del operate?
- Remove all non-essential adapters (network adapter,
sound card).
